Drink Up! Irish Drinking Game

Drink Up 2.0 just came out today! Drink Up is an iPhone drinking game with an Irish theme. Originally I put it out right before St. Patrick’s Day to help people get into the spirit, but apparently drinking games are always in season. This one is fun. It’s like playing hot-potato with your phone. You pass the phone as music plays, but when the music stops and the phone buzzes, whoever is holding the phone needs to complete a challenge. The game shows a new challenge for each round until it goes through them all, then it mixes them up and goes through them again.

Drink Up 2.0 is much improved, since now you can edit the list of challenges. The app originally was rejected because of “objectionable content” so we had to make the challenge list a bit more pg-13. We fixed that by allowing you to remove challenges and add your own. You can always reset to the defaults too.

Other updates are that it doesn’t take as long to buzz now. We got feedback that people wanted to drink more, so there’s a shorter time between challenges, and we also edited the default list so that it has more “social” type challenges when multiple people have to drink.

Guess the Number

Guess the Number is the first iPhone app that Kate made. As a former elementary math specialist, she has lots of ideas about iPhone applications for kids. This scenario is for when you’re kid is in the backseat of the car or sitting in a waiting room bored, and you give them your iPhone to play some games. Guess the Number is about building basic number sense. It’s around a first grade level. Older people like it but it gets old pretty quickly. It’s a lot more challenging if you’re still building your number sense. For younger kids, they really have to think about what numbers are bigger than 26 and smaller than 37…

Girls Night, a Bachelorette Party Game

Check out Girls Night, a bachelorette party game for the iPhone. It’s a truth-or-dare game. Start by entering in the names of all the girls in the group (or do a quick start by using the default Player 1, Player 2, …) Then go to the Play screen and spin. It will randomly select a girl and truth or dare. You can override it and select a specific girl if you like. When you view the challenge, you can choose to Add it to the tally or skip. At the end of the night you have a full tally of all the mischief of the night.

This is fun for a bachelorette party or for any girls night out where you’re looking for fun. It’s best if you’re out at bars, since some of the challenges assume that you’re drinking and that there are people around. You can even use it with guys too – they seem to find the truth questions pretty hilarious. Have fun!

Bouncy Maze!

Bouncy Maze is available in the App Store!

In Bouncy Maze, you control a bouncy ball by tilting the device and using gravity. You need to find your way through each level, while bouncing the ball around the walls. The levels are large, so Bouncy Maze is a side-scroller – the camera follows you as you bounce around. The levels are also mazes, but they’re populated by colored stars that give you subtle hints about which direction to go in. Your score is determined by how fast you can complete each level, and also how many stars you can pick up along the way.

Bouncy Maze is Andy’s first iPhone game. It started as a simple physics/tilting demo, where you could create multiple balls and bounce them around a plain white screen. From there, it morphed into a sort of platformer, with side scrolling levels and collision detection. The stars were added to make things more interesting, and we made 30 different levels that get progressively more difficult.

Our friends say it’s fun. We hope you’ll give it a try!
